Originally based on Chattanooga, Champy’s World Famous Chicken is hoping to open in July.
Champy’s is serving food, still waiting on the alcohol license, but chicken and tamales wait for no man!
The chicken at Champy’s is fried fresh with every order. Everything on the menu is freshly made in-house including the famous Champy’s authentic Mississippi Delta Hot Tamales, fried green tomatoes, our famous red beans, homemade gumbo and all of the other entrees, sides, and desserts. Another staple of Champy’s is their fresh Louisiana Crawfish, which they serve when in season.
Chattanooga developer David Harris and his brother-in-law Eugene Jung, owners of the Madison location, recently purchased the former Bison’s Café located at 8020 Madison Blvd. and plans are underway to completely remodel and upgrade the building. The restaurant is 4,300 square feet in size and will seat almost 200 guests. There will be a separate bar and dining rooms, each with its own outside patio. The exterior and interior are being designed with the same feel as the other Champy’s locations. Also, the kitchen will be completely renovated with all new equipment.
Champy’s Founder says “We are extremely excited to bring our world famous fried chicken to Madison.”. “We feel that this will be a great location and look forward to introducing our vibrant and eclectic atmosphere, which is truly one of a kind, to the community.”
In addition to the original Chattanooga locations, there are Champy’s in Daphne, Ala., Muscle Shoals, Ala., Alabaster, Ala., Athens, Ga. and Murfreesboro, Tenn.
