Christkindlmarket Huntsville 2018 at the Space & Rocket Center

When you hear the words “U.S. Space and Rocket Center” and “German” together the mind naturally goes to one subject.  Werner Von Braun and his team of German rocket scientists who made an immense contribution to the success of the American space program.  However, this month the Space and Rocket Center will experience a German influence of a different kind with Christkindlmarket.

This is a free event taking place both inside and outside of the Davidson Space Exploration Center
from 4:30 – 9:30 PM on Saturday, December 15th.

Christkindlmarket will give you a taste of an authentic Bavarian Christmas.  There will be over 40 vendors offering arts, holiday gifts, and handmade crafts.  Somebody will even be selling German cuckoo clocks. The kids will get an opportunity to visit with Santa Claus.  Don’t forget to stop by the photo booth.  You can enjoy plenty of German food and drink while listening to live German music.  This is a holiday event that no doubt Von Braun himself would have enjoyed.

This is the second year Christkindlmarket has been held in Huntsville and the first year for it to be at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.  Last year’s event was voted Best Holiday Market in Alabama by Food and Wine.  Melissa Rodriquez of Revel Events Agency says, “There is a little bit for everyone to entertain your whole family.  We want this to be a fun Christmas tradition that, come November or December, you are looking forward to this event.”

Toy donations will be accepted for Kids to Love.
