Get ready for one of Huntsville’s favorite outdoor festivals.

Huntsville is getting ready for WhistleStop Festival, held on the grounds of the Historic Huntsville Depot. The festival, which will be held on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4, will feature food, amateur kid’s Q bbq competition, Alabama corn hole competition, professional KCBS bbq competition, amateur shadetree bbq competition, live music, and craft beer.

In honor of Alabama’s Bicentennial, WhistleStop is hosting an incredible “Alabama Music Mashup” paying tribute to iconic music made famous by Alabama Musicians.

Acts include tributes to Jimmy Buffett, Hank Williams Jr., and Alabama. Other bands performing at WhistleStop…The Dawn Osborne Band, JedEye, Dirt Circus, Triple Play, Rob Alderige & The Proponents and Black Eyed Susan.

VIP Party Zone tickets for each night or the weekend are available online. Includes dinner, drinks, private restroom, a front of the stage VIP area, snacks and much more.

Proceeds from the event benefit the history education initiatives of the EarlyWorks Family of Museums.

  • 150 Barbeque teams with a People’s Choice contest from 1pm-3pm on Saturday, May 4th.
  • Wing Thing competition where the public judges which team has the tastiest wings will be Friday night in the Roundhouse.
