Dead Children’s Playground

The Dead Children’s Playground, Facts and Folklore.

Along the outer banks of Maple Hill Cemetery, lies a well know playground know as ‘Dead Children’s Playground.’  Honestly, this playground sees more ghosts hunters, teenagers and adrenaline junkies more than lively children just wanting to play.

Many locals believe the playground got its name from the dead children in Maple Hill that come out at night to play. They may have seen the swings swinging by themselves or hear children laughing and giggling but not child in sight.

Do you know the reason the name stuck? Jacque Reeves, a guide on Huntsville’s Ghost Walk has your answer.
