Star Spangled Fireworks in Fort Payne

Several star-spangled events offering a variety of wholesome family fun are on tap atop Lookout Mountain in celebration of Independence Day. The star-studded celebrations begin Tuesday, July 2nd and include free hot dogs, an ice cream social, parades, a festival centered on potatoes and spectacular fireworks displays.

The Independence Day celebrations get underway July 2nd when the City of Fort Payne invites everyone to a star-spangled celebration with free hot dogs, soft drinks, American flags, live entertainment, and a spectacular fireworks display. The event takes place at the Fort Payne Sports Complex and begins at dusk.

Goose Pond Colony Resort's 37th Annual Fourth of July Celebration

Join Goose Pond Colony for their 37th Annual 4TH of July Celebration.

Admission to the event is free, and food and drinks will be available for purchase from a variety of vendors at the event. Beer will be available for purchase at the amphitheater but No outside alcoholic beverages will be allowed inside the fenced area of the amphitheater. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to the celebration. During the fireworks display, spectators can tune to K-98 (98.3 FM) for music synchronized to the fireworks.

What times: Concert starts at 6:00 – 11:00. Fireworks start at 9:00 PM

Please, no outside food or drink.

If there are thunderstorms or lightning fireworks cannot be launched. If it rains we will wait for a break and launch. But fingers crossed for good fireworks weather.

Bikes, Brews, & Fireworks

Straight to Ale is hosting a ride on July 4th, from the brewery and back to end the evening with fireworks in the Biergarten!

Join us on the Patio at 5:00 PM for our release of Ambeerica, our brand new amber ale.

We’ll take off from the Patio at 5:30 PM for a ride through Twickenham and Big Spring Park to the Veteran’s Memorial. From there we’ll head to OTBX for a beer, then return to Straight to Ale and reconvene in the Biergarten to watch the fireworks from the Space and Rocket Center.

Oh yes, bikes from Huntsville Urban Bike Share will be available for the ride!

Fireworks Extravaganza at the Space and Rocket Center

Enjoy special, family-friendly patriotic activities during regular museum hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Children ages 12 and under get free admission. Although there are no evening activities inside the park for July 4, visitors can enjoy our authentic German Biergarten in the Davidson Center from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Rocket Center will close at 7:30 p.m. in preparation for a 9 p.m. fireworks display, generously presented by Loretta Spencer with support from WOW Internet, TV & Phone. The Center will launch its largest fireworks display for the city of Huntsville at 9 p.m. For public safety, the larger fireworks display requires the closing of the parking lot in front of the Davidson Center for Space Exploration. Families are encouraged to view the breathtaking, patriotic show from other areas in the vicinity of the Rocket Center.

Smith Lake Park Fireworks & Music Festival

The Smith Lake Park Fireworks and Music Festival happens on Thursday, July 4, 2019. It’s a day full of arts and crafts, food, live music, and fireworks! We’ll also have our golf cart parade and other contests for the family. Play putt-putt in the newly updated putt-putt course and the swimming pool will be open and renting kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards! Camp Sites are still available, call 256-739-2916 to make your reservations. Park Admission is $5 per person.

The Sand Mountain Potato Festival & Fireworks Show

With its roots in potato farming, the town of Henagar pays tribute to its heritage with a free festival on July 4th. Now in its 37th year, the Sand Mountain Potato Festival offers a car show, arts and crafts fair, parade, live entertainment featuring local talent and children’s games and inflatables, along with a variety of food vendors featuring potato entrees and side dishes.

The Sand Mountain Potato Festival begins with a parade at 10 a.m., followed by opening ceremonies around 11 a.m., with entertainment beginning immediately afterwards and running through to the spectacular fireworks display around 8:30 p.m. This year’s event will have a variety of local artists performing, including the Sharps Quartet, Ryan Watkins, Kathy Louvin and family, among others. Along with traditional festival food, a variety of potato entrees and side dishes are offered including baked potatoes, French fries, cheese fries, tator twirls and much more.

All activities are held in Henagar Park located on Alabama Highway 75. While admission is free, a small fee is charged to participate in some of the children’s games and activities and parking is $2 per vehicle.

City of Madison Stars and Stripes Forever July 4th Celebration

Dublin Park is the place to be on July 4th. The Celebration will begin with inflatable activities lined up all around Soccer Field #1. Children and Adults of all ages can enjoy games, activities and even try to find their way through the 70 ft Obstacle Course. When you get too hot….take a splash down the 62 ft Water Slide or sit underneath the giant Tent in the shade. Parking for the event will be at Bob Jones High School with Shuttle Services provided by the City of Madison. Shuttle services will begin running at 1:45 pm with the last pick up at 8:45 pm. Following the event, the Shuttles will take you back to Bob Jones High School. Handicap parking ONLY will be allowed at Dublin Park. Spirit of America Fireworks

Plenty of Food and Craft Vendors. Fields open at 3pm Every year in July, Americans join together to celebrate our nation’s freedom and to pause and reflect on the sacrifices military personnel and their families make every day. The Spirit of America Festival, held annually in Decatur, Ala., has attracted thousands of families to the River City for one of North Alabama’s largest free fireworks show in honor of Independence Day. The spectacular fireworks show will launch at 9 p.m. and families can arrive earlier to enjoy the patriotic bike parade, to make a splash at the Point Mallard water park and visit all of our wonderful food and craft vendors. Delicious Snow Cones, Pizza, Funnel Cakes, Hotdogs, etc…

Spirit of Freedom Celebration

Celebrate Independence Day in the Shoals on Thursday, July 4th. Live, nationally known musicians perform all day, food vendors are on site, and activities for the entire family will all be at the park throughout the day. The Independence Day Celebration culminates with one of the largest fireworks shows in the Southeast. Red, White, and Boom! July 4th Firework Show

As darkness falls over Athens on July 4th the sky will burst with brilliant colors and glisten with sparkling streamers heralding our Nation’s victory for independence. This annual fireworks display is nestled in the Athens Football Stadium (100 U.S. Highway 31N in Athens) with rockets aimed skyward for an amazing show visible from surrounding spaces like Swan Creek Park, Athens Greenway, Athens Park and Recreation Center, Central Church of Christ and other adjacent areas. No seating is available in the stadium but friends and families are encouraged to bring blankets, camp chairs, or lower the tailgate on the pickup and find a spot nearby to take in the show. The show doesn’t happen until after dark (8:00PM or later depending on cloud conditions) and is a rain or shine event!
