Rattlesnake Saloon: a watering hole under a rock

It's a real saloon

Rattlesnake Saloon is nestled under an ancient rock in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Guests can either sit on top of the bluff, below it, in the opening of a large cave, or inside the saloon. The deck also provides additional seating, but with the bonus of a view. Since opening, it has been featured in magazines, music videos, and tv shows and has become one of the top attractions in North Alabama. So far, their guestbooks show visitors from all 50 states and over 30 other countries that have visited the Saloon. During the saloon’s three-day workweek, anywhere from 1,000 to 3,000 people visit to admire its craftsmanship, listen to live music or grab a bite to eat. 3

A four-door pickup truck equipped with wooden benches in the bed will greet guests at the parking lot. The Saloon Taxi constantly travels back and forth from Rattlesnake Saloon to the parking lot.

Rattlesnake Saloon serves lunch and dinner Thursday through Saturday. Skunk rings (pile of onion rings), snake eyes and tails (fried jalapeno poppers), bronco bites (fried pickles) and burgers, such as “The Duke,” are some of the menu’s most prominent items.
