Restaurants opening in Huntsville this year!

Huntsville is a booming community that just keeps growing and growing. There are so many great food and entertainment venues that have already arrived in this great city to give you plenty of places to go for a fun night on the town. 2019 is going to be yet another year of prosperity.

 

Here are some restaurants coming to downtown Huntsville in 2019!

Melt: Melt got their start as a food truck in 2012 and are now a brick and mortar style venue featuring foods such as grilled cheese, cheeseburgers, and chicken sandwiches.
They are coming to The Avenue in Downtown Huntsville late July.

The Gemini: Kitchen + Cocktails: The Gemini is a modern American restaurant that will provide a casual and affordable dining experience.
They are coming to The City Centre at Big Spring in Downtown Huntsville early 2019.

The Poppy: A British style pub with a 1920s, post-World War I industrial vibe is set to open on North Side Square in Downtown Huntsville, opened May 6th.

Phat Sammy’s Tiki Bar is an electric eatery and tiki bar will be a new twist on Huntsville’s nightlife. They specialize in Polynesian/Asian/American fusion and luxuriant mixed drinks. Coming to 104 Jefferson Street, soon! Date announcement expected by late this summer.

And around Huntsville!

Krab Hut:  Chow down on seafood and pots of Crab Boils, coming soon to 4925 University Dr, in the old Chili’s location.
Full Moon  BBQ – Southern-style ‘que is coming to 1009 North Memorial Parkway, in the old Royal Rose Cafe location early 2020.
Pier 88 Seafood Boiling Seafood –  Low Country Boil coming to 5850 University DR NW, Huntsville, Alabama 35806 near Best Buy and Chipotle, coming in July.

 

Coming to Stovehouse:

Oh Crepe: Will be serving, you guessed it, crepes! They will feature Japanese ingredients and flavors into traditional crepes, coming this summer.

Mazzara’s: A casual Italian Restaurant that will feature freshly made pasta and many other Italian foods as well as homemade gelato at Guistino’s Gelatothey will debut in the summer.

Fresko Grille: A Mediterranean restaurant that will feature create your own wraps and bowls, opened June 26.

Kamodo Ramen: Will serve Japanese style bowls with various noodles, sauces, vegetables, and meats, coming this summer.

Pourhouse: An upscale rooftop bar serving wine as well as local craft beers; spirits; and handcrafted cocktails will join the lineup in Spring of 2019.  Described as laid back and “comfortably swanky’ this is sure to become a local hangout spot, grand opened May 24th.

Charlie Foster’s, founded by Huntsville natives Austin Jenkins and Hollie Jenkins, will offer high-quality coffee drinks while providing employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The 1,850-square-foot space will be situated directly adjacent to the food garden and include a private 500-square-foot outdoor patio for patrons. Charlie Foster’s is slated to open in Q4 2019

 

Coming to Shops at Merchant’s Square:

Char: A southern style steakhouse coming in July or August.

Chop Chop Fresh Salads: This place is all about the salad lover. They are a fast, casual eatery serving fresh seasonal salad bowls opened this spring.

Chuy’s Mexican Restaurant: A Tex style Mexican restaurant that specializes in fresh ingredients opened April 30th at 11am.

Great Harvest Bread Company: Bakery, Cafe to open this summer!

The Brass Tap – The Brass Tap is an upscale beer bar with 60 craft beers on tap, & 200+ imports, local craft beers, and a large selection of Wine, liquor, and great food. opened  June 10th.

 

 

 

Coming to Mid City:

Pie and Pints: Will feature a wide variety of specialty pizzas and craft beer perfect for a fun night on the town coming this summer.

Wahlburgers: A huge restaurant in every sense of the word. It is a 4,000 square foot restaurant owned by the TV and Movie star Wahlberg brother. Wahlburgers is a full-service restaurant with dining, a full-service bar, and takeout. They will be arriving in 2019.

Dave and Buster’s: A huge adult playground 26,500 sq. ft. facility featuring food, drinks, sports bar, TV’s, and arcades coming to Mid City, August 19th.

 

 

Coming to Times Plaza:

Big Daddy’s Burger Bar:  A burger bar with many choices including bison, tuna, turkey, chicken, and even black bean for the vegetarians. Create your own burger is a big feature on their menu coming this fall.

Super Chix: A small, homey restaurant that was originally based in Dallas, Texas. They are best known for their chicken sandwiches and frozen custard coming this summer.

Stone Age Korean Steakhouse: Will serve Korean Style barbeque featuring pork, beef, chicken and seafood with all you can eat lunch and dinner options coming this winter.

Just Love Coffee Cafe: Serving a wide menu of beverages using the brand’s hand-roasted coffees, loose-leaf teas, and other non-coffee offerings, the new shop will feature a unique waffle-iron-based breakfast and lunch, accompanied by “coffee with a cause.” The 2,200-square-foot space is slated to open this fall.

 

Coming to 127 Holmes:

Moe’s Bar-B-Que: Founded by Alabama boys, Moe’s Original BBQ is a Southern soul food revival where great food is served in an atmosphere that is relaxed, opened June 26th!

Retaggio: An upscale Italian and rooftop bar, coming this summer to Holmes Avenue in Downtown Huntsville.

 

 

And coming to Madison, in July  is Champy’s Chicken with fresh fried chicken, tamales, fried green tomatoes, our famous red beans, and homemade gumbo!
And Goodland’s Pour House, with a gastropub with local craft beer, bar food including healthier with locally sourced ingredients, expected to open in September!
Shrimp Basket, a beach favorite is expected to open in the fall
