Need an excuse to have some fun? You’ve found it! Come hang at The Camp for Electric Polar Bear. Spring Into Summer Activities Fair

The Spring Into Summer Activities Fair returns Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center’s Davidson Center for Space Exploration.

👉This event is FREE to the public! The Spring Into Summer Activities Fair will highlight spring break and summer camps, workshops and classes in the fields of art, music, dance, theater, science, history and more, for kids of all ages!🎨 This is an excellent opportunity for parents and kids to learn more about educational offerings from local arts and cultural organizations. The fair will also feature hands-on activities and door prizes.

Weiner Dog Races: Havoc vs. Macon Mayhem

The ninth-annual Havoc Wiener Dog Races are this Saturday! Time to find out if you’ve got the quickest dog in the South. Races will take place during the first intermission. Dachshunds only in the race, but all dogs can come and watch!

Guided Tour of Cathedral Caverns with HYP

Join HYP for a guided tour of the majestic Cathedral Caverns! This tour is about 1.5 miles round trip and takes about 90 minutes. The entire route is paved and easy to walk. Hiking shoes/boots are recommended due to slippery terrain. The cost is $19 per person. Cash or card is accepted and the fee is paid at the cave entrance.

**We will meet at Books-a-Million at 12:30PM to organize carpools – leaving at 12:45PM sharp. The ride there is about 40 minutes and the tour starts at 2:00PM.

Akeelah and the Bee

Akeelah and the Bee – Directed by Jacinda Rose Swinehart and Kailey Burkhardt February 15-17 & 22-24, 2019 at the VBC Playhouse Performance Partner – Iberia Bank 11 year-old Akeelah spells words because her daddy taught her to, not because she’s trying to get a reputation as “the Brainiac”. After she wins her school’s bee, she buckles down and studies hard for Nationals against all kinds of odds: bullying friends, gun violence outside her window, and the ongoing mourning for her father. Audience members will cheer Akeelah’s triumphant journey about the transformative (t-r-a-n-s-f-o-r-m-a-t-i-v-e) power of education, adult mentors, and friendship. Recommended for ages 9 and up.
