The top five movies hitting theaters in September

September is here and with it comes a brand new slate of movies hitting the silver screen. From an evil clown with a red balloon to a sci-fi thriller about a man with daddy issues, we’ve got you covered with the top five movies you gotta see this month.

It Chapter Two – Sept 6th

The smash horror hit returns in the cinematic finale of Stephen King’s classic novel. It Chapter Two finds the Losers Club 27 years after the events of the first film as they return to Derry to do battle with the evil clown Pennywise who haunts their hometown once again. Stars James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain and Bill Skarsgard.

The Goldfinch – Sept 13th

Based on the Pultizer Prize winning novel, The Goldfinch follows a young man grief stricken after the tragic loss of his mother. This tragedy alters the course of his life, but through it all, he continues to hold on to one little piece of hope…a painting of a small bird chained to a perch. Stars Ansel Elgort and Nicole Kidman.

Downton Abbey – Sept 20th

Five years after the end of the critically acclaimed series, the doors of Downton are opening again as the Crawley family prepares for a royal visit from the King and Queen. All the fan favorites are back such as Hugh Bonneville and Dame Maggie Smith.

Ad Astra – Sept 20th

This sci-fi epic stars Brad Pitt as he journeys across the solar system in search of his missing father who disappeared over 30 years ago. Now, his father’s mission and the truth behind it threatens the universe. Also stars Tommy Lee Jones.

Abominable – Sept 27th

This family-friendly flick from Dreamworks Animation follows a young teenager named Yi as she discovers a young Yeti lost on the roof of her apartment building. And with the help of her friends, Yi sets out on an epic quest to reunite this magical creature with his family.
