If you’re looking to get outside and enjoy the warmer weather, you’re in luck.

The Tennessee Valley Authority announced the majority of their developed recreation areas and campgrounds will reopen by the end of the day Friday.

Those areas have been closed since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Restrooms, large-group pavilions, and playgrounds will remain closed, however, in accordance with current state and federal guidelines. Areas currently undergoing maintenance, such as the Wilson Dam Rockpile Rec Area that was damaged by flooding, will also remain closed.

And even though the areas are reopening, TVA is asking visitors to continue to practice social distancing and comply with all other guidance issued by the CDC while on the grounds.
