10 surprising uses for white vinegar

Who knew white vinegar is a miracle product? From washing machines to pet care to face toner, this product is a must-have in your home!

1. Sun Burn

White vinegar contains acetic acid, a component of aspirin that can help relieve the pain, itching, and inflammation of sunburn. Soak paper towels with vinegar and apply like a compress to painful areas, leave them on until they dry.

2. Washing Machine

Just like in your dishwasher, vinegar helps to break down detergent when added to the rinse cycle, making clothes fresher, more colorful—and it gets rid of funky towel mildew. One cup should be plenty; add less when using a front-loading washing machine

3. General House Cleaning

Most people reach for the bleach, but white vinegar cleans just as good and is a lot safer. You can use it down drains, on grout and caulk, in your mop water and even in your washing machine to get the mildew smell out.

4. Soap Scum

White Vinegar is perfect for getting that annoying soap scum of your toilets and showers. Just spray, let it sit for a few minutes, and wipe away!

5. Toner

It also helps tighten & minimize pores!

6. Pet Oder

Dilute white vinegar in a 1-to-4 ratio (1 tablespoon vinegar to 4 tablespoons water, for example), and let it soak into a clean rag. Then use the rag to wipe out the inside of your pet’s ears. Also, if your pet gets sprayed by a skunk, it can help get rid of the smell.

7.Grease Stains

Eliminate grease stains from your stove, broiler, kitchen table, or counter by wiping them down with a cloth dampened in a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water.

8. Weed Killer

Give each plant a single spritz of vinegar in the middle of the flower before the plants go to seed. Spay another shot near the stem at ground level so the vinegar can soak down to the roots. If it rains, you will want to spray again.

9. Extends the Life of Cut Flowers

Try adding a few tablespoons of white vinegar to the water, plus a dash of sugar.

10.Revitalize leather furniture

Don’t buy a new one, revitalize it. Mix equal parts white vinegar and boiled linseed oil in a recycled spray bottle, shake it up well and spray it on. Your chair or sofa will be good as new!
