The River Clay Fine Arts Festival Returns Sept 28
Held on the 4th weekend in September each year in beautiful downtown Decatur, River Clay Fine Arts Festival offers participating artists from all over the country the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work right here in the Tennessee Valley. The juried festival includes an artist market, artist demonstrations, children’s art activities, student art exhibits, and much, much more. Situated on the beautiful, park-like setting of Decatur’s city hall campus, the festival offers a destination for visiting art enthusiasts and area residents to spend time sharing ideas, purchasing art and immersing themselves in the artistic experience.
River Clay Rendezvous
River Clay’s opening night event offers a festive night of food, drink and art. River Clay Rendezvous attendees get the first opportunity to browse the River Clay Artist Market before the festival opens to the public. In addition, attendees will enjoy music and great food provided by local restaurants! River Clay Rendezvous opens at 5pm on the City Hall Campus site.
Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased here.
River Clay attendees can observe the artistic process through various artist demonstrations scheduled throughout the festival. Whether watching a potter throw clay, a painter paint or a woodworker turn wood, visitors will enjoy watching creativity in action.
Student Art Exhibits
In addition to experienced artists, River Clay celebrates up-and-coming artists as well. Festival-goers will enjoy seeing the varied works of students from Decatur City Schools, Morgan County Schools and the Alabama Center for the Arts.
