5 Basic Lessons to Ice Hockey
One may ask, “How hard can ice hockey be?” Well, our Tennessee Valley Weekend crew went straight to the professionals.
To start, we advise you to know how to ice skate. It may be a little tricky at first, but with a little balance and a 1,000 times of busting it, you’ll get the hang of it. Next, you will need to learn how to score. As Pistol Pete says, “You can’t win without shooting.” The third lesson threw us for a loop. Cross Checking. The actual definition from Merriam-Webster reads – to obstruct in ice hockey or lacrosse by thrusting one’s stick held in both hands across an opponent’s face or body. AKA- a good way to start a fight. That’s right, you guessed it. Step four is FIGHTING. You can’t go to an ice hockey game without a good fight, but you better drop those gloves and your stick pretty fast to get the upper hand. Last, but surly not least, is a little smack talk. Hockey players may get a little competitive, so naturally smack talk is in the top five basics of ice hockey! But wait, there may be a little bonus.
