July 4th Firework Celebrations across North Alabama

There’s good news and bad news for the 4th of July this year.

The good news? Independence Day falls on a Saturday, which means you get the entire weekend to celebrate. The bad news? COVID-19 has forced a ton of traditional area celebrations to cancel.

So before we get to the firework displays that are happening this year, let’s start with the cancellations.

4th of July Events Still Happening

Fort Payne Fireworks Show

This year, head on over to the Fort Payne Sports Complex and watch the city’s fireworks display from the safety of your car. Be sure to tune into WVSM Radio 103.1, WZOB 1250 am, 98.3 Wild Country, or 101.7 The Torch to listen to the choreographed music during the show.

WHEN: Thursday, July 2nd (Rain Date July 3rd)

TIME: 9 pm

LOCATION: Fort Payne Sports Complex parking lot

Rocket City Trash Pandas Block Party

Kick-off Independence Day weekend with live entertainment, music, fireworks, trivia, and delicious ballpark fare for you to enjoy with family and friends! Admission is $10 per person, Kids 2 & Under do not require a ticket, and parking is free. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. Gates open at 5PM! Trash Pandas Nation full season ticket holders have the opportunity for early access through the Trustmark VIP Lobby from 4:30pm – 5pm.

WHEN: Friday, July 3rd

TIME: 5 pm – 9:30 pm, fireworks start at 9 pm

4th of July Fireworks Spectacular

It’s the biggest party of the summer! The Trash Pandas first-ever July 4th Celebration is a patriotic extravaganza culminating with the best fireworks in the area! The event will feature on-field access to enjoy live entertainment, activities for kids and adults like a bungee jump trampoline, swing rides, and more! Admission is $10 per person, Kids 2 & under do not require a ticket, and parking is $6 per vehicle. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. Pepsi Gates open at 4PM! Trash Pandas Nation full season ticket holder have the opportunity for early access through the Trustmark VIP Lobby from 3:30 PM – 4 PM.

4th of July at MidCity

Join MidCity District on Saturday, July 4th, from 11 am – 11 pm for tons of free, family-friendly activities. Enjoy all-day food and drink specials, a drive-in movie, and cap off the 4th with a fireworks display. Please keep in mind, there are a number of safety guidelines in effect, which you can read in full here.

TIME: 11 am – 11 pm

LOCATION: MidCity, Huntsville

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

  • 11 am – Doors open for food and beverages at The Camp
  • 3 pm – Deadline to bring your carved watermelons for judging (more info can be found here)
  • 5:30 pm – Gates open for movie parking (Jurassic Park)
  • 7 pm – Live music begins
  • 8:15 pm – Movie begins
  • 10:30 pm – Fireworks begin

Red, White, and Boom! Drive-In Edition

The annual event in Athens may look a little different this year. But the fireworks display is still happening at Athens Football Stadium with attendees watching the show from their vehicles. You’ll also be able to enjoy the music that pairs with the fireworks by tuning into Outlaw 105.1. For more information, click here.

TIME: 8:15 (display is rain or shine so a rain delay is possible)

LOCATION: Athens Football Stadium

Fireworks Over Cullman

The music for the show will be broadcast from Heritage Park as well as on WKUL (FM92.1), and viewers will have the option of watching from the Heritage Park soccer field (please practice social distancing!), from the comfort of their car, or from just about any spot in the city of Cullman!

The show will begin at 9 pm and last for fifteen minutes.
