Jevon Turner splits his time between being a minster at The Gathering Place in Athens and running the smoker five days a week at his new restaurant in Harvest which opened back in February. His love of the culinary arts blossomed while in the Navy where he served as both an engineer and a cook, and he adopted those techniques he learned cooking for a mass of people, scaled them down a little, and boom – the Butt Shack was born.
What sets this BBQ joint apart from all the rest? Everything is done in-house. They cut and trim their own meats, and everything is made fresh daily.
